Letter from Betty Lara, Executive Director of Glory House

Dear Prospective Patron,

Glory House of Miami was founded in 2011, its primary goal: to provide a safe environment for survivors of sex trafficking with the sole purpose of leading and encouraging them in the long road to healing and restoration. Through help from the local community and private donors, the Glory House facility opened its doors April 2016 and is currently housing rescued survivors.  We work with resident and non-resident survivors as they have children that we cannot house. We also have a drop in center “Restored Masterpiece” in Overtown to provide services to non-resident survivors and an outreach ministry to bring hope to those that are still being trafficked.

The statistics of the sex trafficking industry are staggering: $32 billion in annual profits, 27 million women and children enslaved worldwide, 1.2 billion children alone being exploited in sexual slavery. South Florida is counted as a major international gateway for trafficking, and Glory House is committed to help abolish this inhumane practice and offer hope to rescued victims. Miami is the 3 larges city where human trafficking happens.

Your assistance allows Glory House to provide long-term service of up to 24 months to resident survivors and wrap around services to non-resident survivors. Services such as medical care, spiritual guidance, mental health care, job/life skills training and more, giving hope for the future, and helping them along on the road to healing and achieving a new purpose-driven life.

On Friday, November 22nd at 7:00 p.m. we will be having a “Leaders with a heart uniting to end human trafficking” event. At the event we would like a string quartet that we would like to have during the event, however the cost is $2,000 and would ask if you would consider underwriting the cost. This is a great opportunity to partner with us in the fight against sex trafficking and providing hope and care for rescued survivors.

Help us open the door to a new life for the survivors of human trafficking.

Thank you for your consideration and support,

Betty Lara
